Hall of Sciences
Drew University has embarked on a new vision for the sciences that establishes interdisciplinary programs and initiatives, collaboration among disciplines and with the community, and is immersed in mentored research. The project team worked closely to define a state-of-the-art facility while correcting past ills, reaches into the future and ultimately recommending an addition to connect the Hall of Sciences with the neighboring liberal arts building, Brothers College.
Transparency connects evidence of learning and collaboration at all levels—lab clusters are organized along a transparent façade, bringing science activity to the rest of campus, collaboration space, labs and
offices are open and engaging to the interior to connect with community in research and learning
The pedagogy promotes a high quality education by emphasizing excellence in teaching, research methodology, experiential learning, mentoring, independent study, and utilization of technology. The new spaces support the administration and pedagogical needs of this important discipline.
The Phase 1 of the project was the renovation of the Environmental Studies, Ecology Departments, and Psychology Department. The Department’s mission is to teach all disciplines as a research science in the context of a liberal arts education through a comprehensive curriculum and innovative pedagogy.
