Digital Picture Frames

Nice Idea, but energy hog.  Here is an interesting fact: If every household in America purchased and used an electric digital picture frame, two 250 megawatt power plants would have to be build to provide the required power.  Here is an article by one manufacturer, PhotoVu, that discusses how their digital picure frames can be shut off or put on a schedule.  Small frames use 50-80 watts of power.  If you have one, you may want to consider an automated schedule or just leave it off unless you are entertaining or your family members come to visit.  Remember also to unplug cell phone chargers, Bluetooth chargers, camera chargers, etc., as they apparently still draw power even when they are off.
