KSS Committed to Women's Equality

August 26, 2024

32% of our staff are licensed female architects and 48% of our overall staff are women, and we look forward to increasing these numbers.

Today, and every day, we celebrate the contributions of women that influence the development of the built environment.

The observance of Women’s Equality Day on August 26th not only commemorates the passage of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote, but also calls attention to women’s continuing efforts toward full equality. While the built environment is destined for everyone, it is not envisioned by everyone.

Many members of the architecture world are taking strides towards gender equality, but nationally, 27% of all architects are women. KSS is engaged in a continual effort to improve our practice in a meaningful and measurable way. We have evaluated our firm through the social justice and equity lens of the Just label, a voluntary self-disclosure tool for organizations to self-report on human resource and community stewardship practices. Through this transparency platform, we hope to create a better, more socially just and equitable workplace for our creative community.

Currently, 32% of our staff are licensed female architects and 48% of our overall staff are women, and we look forward to increasing these numbers.
