Designed Objects as a Form of Self-Expression

The focus of the presentation was to look at designed objects in the industry, and in our own lives, and understand their value. The presentation discussed not only the design of objects from functional perspectives, but it addressed ideas of identity, expression, memory, and attachment that people have to designed objects in their lives. The goal was to explore how we as designers are responsible for considering the significance of these pieces and parts that people use as a form of self-expression when designing the shelters that house and hold these objects.
