KSS Architects Elevates Four Employees

KSS Architects, a national-caliber design firm focused on architecture, interior design, and planning, is pleased to announce the promotion of four employees. The elevation of Kyle Rendall to Director of Construction Administration and Kaitie Gillespie, Rocky McClure, and Jordan Mrazik to Associate reflects each individual’s dedication to the firm’s success.

Kyle Rendall, AIA,  brings a high level of experience to each project he takes on. Well-versed in the technical language necessary for delivering a successful project, Kyle’s management skills ensure that projects run smoothly and are completed on time and on budget. With extensive experience in the learning and community markets, Kyle has worked on new buildings, renovations, additions and studies for public schools, charter schools and special needs schools, as well as community-driven housing developments. As an active member of his community, Kyle has volunteered as a firefighter for the Princeton Fire Department for more than a decade and was named Fire Chief in January of 2018. He is an active volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and has provided pro-bono design and construction administration services for the non-profit organization Womanspace, Inc.

Matt McChesney, Partner at KSS says “Kyle is a masterful architect—his ability to find creative solutions to issues in the field, confidently guide and unify construction teams of diverse viewpoints, and ensure the accurate execution of the aesthetic and functional desires of the environments we design, all exemplify his capacity for leadership. Elevating him to Director of Construction Administration will advance the national-caliber work KSS delivers to clients on a daily basis and ensure that our employees have the guidance and support they deserve.”

Kaitie Gillespie  has extensive interior design experience in commercial and corporate projects. Her expertise in space planning drives forward a body of work with sophisticated and material-rich design. Kaitie’s deep understanding of finishes and furnishings coupled with advanced knowledge of Revit architecture software and technical execution have enabled her to efficiently manage and execute projects at a variety of scales.

Shelia Nall, ASID, LEED AP, Principal and Director of Interior Design at KSS, says, “During her tenure at KSS, Kaitie Gillespie has grown to be the complete package when it comes to interior design. Through her exemplary design talents and project management skills, she has garnered the trust of her clients, the recognition of her peers, and the respect of construction teams.  Kaitie always provides creative and thoughtful design solutions that stretch her clients beyond their initial visions.  She has shepherded some of KSS’s most successful and forward-thinking interior workplace projects, including City National Bank, Sparks, Bioclinica, Acadia Pharmaceuticals, and Launchpad.”

Rocky McClure’s passion, curiosity, and dedication extend past architecture into the complex industrial processes and integration that elevate places of and for industry. His strength in forging client relationships, his leadership and mentorship of younger staff, and his international experience make Rocky an exceptional architect and invaluable project team member.  With experience that spans all phases and stages of project delivery across a number of sectors including commercial, educational, residential, and infrastructural, Rocky’s versatility, technical skill, and design strength add measurable value to any project on which he collaborates.

Scot Murdoch, AIA, Partner at KSS says, “Rocky is an incredible asset to the firm.  His willingness to dive into any project and thoughtfully execute while being alert to and delivering on the changing and demanding requests of many of our clients is extraordinary.  At the same time, Rocky serves as a trusted and well-liked mentor to many of our emerging young architects.  I rely heavily on Rocky and he does not disappoint.  I am thrilled to see him honored as a new Associate with KSS.”

Jordan Mrazik, AIA, is passionate believer in contextual thought and community-based design; he champions design leadership and cross-disciplinary practice throughout the project process.  Jordan possesses specialty design experience in educational, cultural, hospitality, and student life projects. He applies his belief of discovery through creative designs, approaching innovative, engaging solutions that fulfill client missions. As an active member in the firm, Jordan develops educational seminars, leads the Design Practice Group, and contributes to thought leadership around design and its impact. His work extends into the Philadelphia community—he participates in local volunteer and community projects, public design installations, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Tree Tenders group, and educational outreach with the ACE Mentor Program. Jordan is also the recipient of the 2018 AIA Philadelphia Young Architect Award.

Merilee Meacock, AIA, LEEP AP, Partner at KSS, says, “I admire Jordan’s passion and interest in engaging diverse and interdisciplinary voices into our work. Jordan’s work reveals and celebrates fresh ways to construct a piece and express through form. As a celebrator of the arts and a builder of community, Jordan makes an indelible impact on our firm, his community, and the people we collectively serve. I am proud to see him elevated to Associate at KSS.”
