AIA NJ Honors Rutgers University's New Brunswick One Stop

Rutgers University—New Brunswick Proctor Hall, One Stop Student Services Center was awarded the 2024 Merit Award for Built Interiors by AIA New Jersey!

KSS Architects helped realize Rutger’s goal of streamlining their student services by locating registration, financial aid, student accounting, and cashiering in one location. The complete renovation transformed the 50-year-old, brutalist-tyle building into a welcoming destination that balances the privacy and security needs of student services with spatial quality and comfort.

The design weaves three service typology layers within the same footprint, establishing zones for self-help stations, the main service counter, and specialty rooms. Custom millwork, metal panel ceilings, and Rutgers branding reinforce the University’s identity to establish a cohesive experience throughout the three floors.

Congratulations to the KSS team of Merilee, Phillip, Ben, David, Chrissy, and Kyle!
