Materiality Field Trip: Education & Inspiration at McGrory Glass

At KSS, we are continually growing our expertise and embracing new techniques and technologies to empower our design to reach its fullest potential.

KSS recently took a field trip to McGrory Glass’s solar-powered warehouse and showroom to learn about their various architectural and decorative glass products and see firsthand how they are manufactured. McGrory’s knowledgeable consultants covered the latest innovative technologies and trends in glass, including their patented CaptiveHook glass mounting system as well as custom film interlayers and direct-to-glass designs.

With our safety glasses on, we set off on a tour. As we made our way around the factory floor, we looked in on glass being tempered, painted, checked for quality, acid-etched, and more. We ended the tour by checking out the finished product in the sample library and showroom.

Planned by the Materiality Design Group, the visit was an opportunity to expand firm knowledge, experience materials in-person, and get inspired. Education, coupled with insight from industry experts, empowers us to formulate innovative solutions for our clients. Thanks to McGrory Glass for an inspiring and informative excursion!
