2021 Year in Review

Over the past year we have seen the continued resilience of our employees and extended creative community of clients and collaborators. As we close out 2021, we are reflecting on all we have accomplished, experienced, learned, and created. In 2021, KSS has…

added many exciting projects to the boards including an oceanfront student housing project; four-school campus for elementary, middle, and high school students; mixed-use town center; and hybrid workplace to cater to the future of work.

…started construction on 30 projects including Fossil Park of Rowan University, a five-story urban industrial development in New York City, Amy Gutmann Hall at University of Pennsylvania, and a new middle school for Great Oaks Legacy Charter School.

…completed two dozen projects including Discovery Hall at Rowan University, Neighborhood Charter School: Bronx, One Stop Student Services Center at Rutgers University, South Bronx Classical School IV, multiple projects for Amazon, and the Community Center for the Rutgers Center for Adults with Autism Services.

…welcomed 17 new employees to our creative community. Eight talented professionals joined the firm in the first half of the year, joined by nine more dedicated team members in the second half of 2021.     

…promoted three employees in recognition of their contributions to the firm. Chrissy Chlebda, Alex D’Aversa, and Katie Schaad were named Associate.

developed ideas around several topics including:

…won an AIA Pennsylvania Merit Award for Tangen Hall at the University of Pennsylvania. The design focuses on fluid interaction at various scales to create a “toolbox for the university.” 

initiated several strategic initiatives to strengthen our firm around diversity, equity, and inclusion; strategic partnerships; professional development; and recruiting.
